Thanks for the warm welcome, and for the advice. I would love to provide you with the additional information, but I’m not sure exactly what you are looking for. Since I already sent the product back for a refund I no longer have the technical documentation. That being said I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.

At the first symptoms of malfunction I called the 1-800 number on the product’s manual for customer support. I never got to talk to a person, but I was directed to an authorized JVC repair center in my area. I took my broken unit to them and after a though 10 minute diagnostic exam the technician told me that all I had to do was to unplug the unit for 30 minutes and it would somehow fix itself. I did that and it worked again for about 3 weeks.
When it started to act up again I tried the unplugging trick, but it didn’t work. Once again I called the repair shop and they told me that they were booked until late December. I then called www.discoverystore.com (The vendor where I purchased the product,) and asked them if I could exchange the unit for a new one. They said that would be fine, but that they no longer carried the unit or any thing comparable. Because they couldn’t exchange the unit they paid for UPS to pick it up and agreed to refund my money.

If you only had it a week before it screwed up, why don't you send it back for a refund or replacement? Did you buy it used?

First let me take this opportunity to welcome you to Epinions.com, it's a great website. Sorry about the low rating on your first review, but I think additional product spec's are needed on the JVC DR-MV1SUS DVD Recorder/Hi-Fi VHS Combo Deck DVD.
