Pros: Chose JVC because we were happy with our JVC TV but this was disappointing!
Cons: The manual was difficult to follow and had continual problems with the unit.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely not recommend this unit.

We had problems with this system since we got it, but they seem to be getting worse. If you try to record more than about two hours, it will start getting green bars on the television display and recording, or it will stop completely and show the word loading on the unit. Or, if Im watching a DVD, it will start getting snow in the picture that gets worse and worse, the TV display will get so bad that you cant tell what color things are, and then it will stop working and will show the word loading in the display.
If I unplug it completely and let it sit for at least an hour, it will work again for another couple of hours, but will start doing the same thing again. (Just turning it off doesnt help it has to be unplugged completely.)
It used to be that we could watch or record about six hours of programming before it would lose its mind, but now, its only good for about two hours. Its a huge pain, because you have to reset the time and date every time.
I sent it in a month before the warranty expired and they claim that they haven't received it, even though I have a copy of the signed receipt document from the post office. I have a feeling that they will "find" it after the warranty date has passed and claim that they didn't receive it in time.
