Most of the names of liquor come from where they are produced, and more importantly, where they were aged. You can produce a whisky in Scotland and bring it to the US. It is illegal to call it Scotch. You must age it for 4 years in Scotland ... I imagine the same rules apply for Irish whiskey. Bourbon, on the otherhand, has strayed from the old rules of only being from Bourbon Cnty.

I understand that the founder of the distillery was Scottish... and it was founded in Ireland... but can they call their whiskey, Irish whiskey? I mean, he's Scottish, wouldn't that make it Scottish whiskey? But anyway, that's a different review... great job on this one. Still confused about the rules behind country affiliation to alcoholic beverages, but I'll get there.
