Pros: Cheap, sleek, great sound and options, nice-looking, great first receiver.
Cons: ONE HUGE ONE: No "memory function" for bass/treble - must toggle them EVERY use.
The Bottom Line: Not recommended. If you have to toggle the bass/treble EVERY time unit is turned on to get the proper sound, no unit is worth this. Naturally, this was discontinued.

I'll just cut right to the chase. I bought this receiver Christmas of 2002 and it didn't take me long to realize that I had to set the sound (literally push one of the bass/treble settings) EVERY TIME I turned the receiver on and off, and/or switched back and forth from setting (tv/tape/cd/stereo, etc) to the next.
Now at first, I thought I just had a faulty unit. So I returned it to the store. When I got the new one home, it did the same thing. Now I thought again, I must have another bad unit so I returned it to a completely different Best Buy, thinking I'd get one that worked. I never did, and still thinking I was getting broken units, I called the Customer Service number.
I was told that this receiver does not have a "memory function" for the bass/treble settings. Many people, though, weren't figuring this out and just returning the unit for something else, or worse, they just didn't recognize that there was even a sound problem (how this is possible with normal hearing, I don't know). What does this mean. Once you have everything set, it all sounds fine and great till you turn off the unit, and/or switch around to another hook up. Now, you have to physically play with the buttons to reset that great sound -- EVERY TIME. Eventually, the unit was pulled and never made again after about a year.
At first I just lived with the problem, as it only took literally 3-4 seconds for me to play with the bass/treble button and have my fine tune settings back. But after doing this for two years multiple times a day sometimes, I got tired with it.
Aside this one main drawback, the unit was great. Sleek, nicely built, had connection ports for almost anything, and gave great sound. It is ashame one silly flaw killed it.
My hope is some owners of this read my review, and finally recognize the problem with the sound feature. I noticed the other reviewers here didn't mention (and may not even know) this HUGE drawback, and yes I have the same exact model and correct unit number, etc. I hope to make people aware of this problem.
