You shouldn't have to wash your dishes before you wash your dishes, and I wanted a machine that did what it was suppose to. Ever since I was a kid I asked my mom the question, "Why if we have a dishwasher do we have to wash our dishes before we put them into the dishwasher?" And of course mom would say, "Because if we don't the dishwasher will not get them clean." So I would just put down a towel or open the dishwasher and use it as a drying rack. Well now that I am in my own home, I wanted a machine that would do what it was supposed to. And working in the Appliance department at Sears for 3 years I had the chance to do just that. Find a machine that would do the job it was supposed to. I went to a number of training courses that the manufactures of these machines put on. GE, Amana, Kitchen Aid, Whirlpool and Kenmore. Now Kitchen Aid is made by whirlpool, it is the upper end line Whirlpool, and this machine we are talking about is made by Whirlpool for Sears. Sears calls it a Kenmore. Now Kenmore has there own designers that makes up there line, Whirlpool just puts them together for Sears. The reason I am telling you this is because I didn't understand why if Whirlpool made the Kenmore, why was the Kenmore so much better. Well this was why. Whirlpool just put them together for Sears. Anyway, this machine is wonderful. You have to make sure you get the Ultra Wash Series if you want the machine to work the way it should. Now when I think of a dishwasher I think of something that will wash dishes, not something that you have to get every bit of sauce off of the plate before you put it into the dishwasher or it wont come out clean. Why even put it into the machine, just add some soap to you water and use the dishwasher for a drying rack. If the machine doesn't work why waste the time and the soap and water, just wash them by hand. Well with this machine you don't have to wash them before you wash them. With the Ultra Wash you can actually take your dishes and scrape them and put them into the machine and they come out clean. The Kenmore Ultra Wash even has a Soft Food Disposer in the bottom of it to grind up soft food. Now this isn't like a regular food disposer that you can put meat into and stuff like that. But I have taken plates with dried on Spaghetti and put them into the Ultra Wash and they come out clean. It is amazing. I put in dried eggs, peanut butter, jelly, gravy, syrup and many many other things, and the Ultra Wash gets them clean. Most people go to the store and when they are going to buy a dishwasher they look at them and think, well I don't want to spend a lot of money on this, the thing doesn't work anyway. Well let me tell you this machine does work and it is worth every penny. There are a number of the machines in the Kenmore Ultra Wash line, the main difference being features. The cleaning system is the same. See you can get them with extra insulation so they are really quiet, or with an electronic panel, or in White on White. What ever fits your taste they have it, but the key is getting the Ultra Wash system. Don't let anyone tell you different. The other machine are ok, but this one is the best, and the reason I know is because I worked at Sears for a number of years, and I watched all of the machine work, and how they worked. We sold more Kenmore machines then we did all other machines combined, and had a lower return rate then any other companies machine. Do yourself a favor next time you need or want a Dishwasher, and go to Sears and check out the Ultra Wash, and remember at Sears Satisfaction Guaranteed or you money back, so it's a win win situation, you can't loose.
