Pros: Relatively quiet. Cleans well. Connects to the garbage disposal.
Cons: Long cycle. Mugs don't fit well in it. Breaks down.
The Bottom Line: Since the electronic components are so expensive to replace, and in our case, unreliable, I would not recommend this dishwasher. Perhaps all high end dishwashers have that potential problem.

| ginnyf2's Full Review: Kenmore 15872 Dishwasher |
We bought our Kenmore Elite dishwasher, model 665 15939 December 29th, 2000. The following August, thankfully while still under warranty, the control panel stopped working. This required two trips by the repairman: One to diagnose, the other to fix after ordering the part. The dishwasher then worked very well for another year. Then, shortly before Thanksgiving of 2002, the dishwasher broke down again. The water would come in and the water would drain, but the water didn't go anywhere else! Also, the water remained cold.
We called for service again, told them that we believed it was the control panel, since that was what it was before. The technician called before showing up at our house, and asked if we had an extended warranty, which we did not. He then told us that it would cost a couple of hundred dollars, parts and labor, to fix the machine. Since you can buy a new dishwasher for that, and my husband can install it, we opted not to get it repaired. Two times in two years is too frequent. Additionally, someone has to take off work (since Sears had cancelled the first appointment at the last minute, I already had taken off two days for this one, with anticipation of a third after they order the part.)
The dishwasher itself did a good job of cleaning, but I did not like the top rack. My mugs did not fit securely in it. The silverware holders also were designed to put the silverware in backwards. This did not cause a big problem though, because you could take the little top off and just have an open area. The knives fit in with the top on, so I left one holder intact. You can fit more in with the top on, since the silverware is separated, so it could be a nice option.
