| writer's Full Review: Kenmore 44832 \ 44834 \ 44836 Front Load Washer |
When we moved into our new home, we left our washer and dryer behind in our old home, planning to buy new. We figured, look for the best so it will last, and ended up buying these Kenmore He3 models, both washer and dryer. I couldn't be more pleased!
From the day my washer was installed, over 3 months ago, I've not had one problem or complaint. I simply love this washer! It uses less water, it gets clothing, towels, rugs, and everything I've put in it sparkling clean, it's quick (35 minute wash cycle for most items), and the spin cycle is so amazing that the clothes come out nearly dry, so the dryer time is less, too.
Another thing I like about the machine are all the options. All the buttons are push-button, rather than the old spin dials. (The dial was the only thing that ever broke on my old 15-year-old Kenmore, so I think this is a good thing.) There are so many laundry, spin, and water combinations that I have come nowhere near using them all, and the washer is very easy to load, run, and empty.
Our washer and dryer are located in the kitchen, just off the living room, so noise was definitely a factor in our purchase, and we have not been disappointed. These things are QUIET. You can watch TV and never hear the washer until it beeps to let you know the load is done. (Another GREAT feature, and you can even regulate the loudness of the beeps!)
Filling the soap and softener dispenser is also a snap, and it even has the maximum amount of soap marked right on the dispenser. Since we have soft water, combined with this front loader, I find I'm using maybe a tablespoon of soap for sparkling clean clothes. Now that's a savings!
I also feel the front loader is much more gentle to clothes, so they will last longer. I've never had tangled or jumbled clothes, towels, or anything out of this machine, and the clothes always come out soft, clean, and with bright colors.
I really don't have anything bad to say about this machine, because so far, I haven't found a thing to complain about. Even better, since the controls are located on the front, I can use the top for extra storage, which I do! The only negative I can think of is that on "high" sometimes the spin cycle gets a little noisy, and the washer shimmies a little, but it has not been a big problem, so I hesitate to mention it. It's really not a big deal.
Whoever designed these appliances knew what they were doing. Everything is flat and easy to clean, and the stainless steel tub is wonderful, and big enough to do a lot of clothing. They advertise it can do 17 towels. Since I don't own 17 towels, I can't attest to that, but I can say that the load size is quite large, and the clothing still get clean, even if you pile them in.
This is the best washer I've ever owned, and I wouldn't trade it for the world! It makes it a pleasure to do the laundry!
