I have tried many different brands of vodka, but for the price, Ketel One is pretty good. Nothing is as smooth as Absolut, but the price, Ketel One cannot be beaten. Ketel One can be said to have a rough flavor while going down. It leaves quite a thick texture on the tongue after swallowed. When downed in a drink, rather than taken hard, Ketel One cannot blend in well. I have tried an OJ, as well as others, and Ketel One stands out too much while trying to enjoy the drink. For more of a smooth drink, you should definitely opt for Absolut.
This vodka is perfect to drink when by oneself and for someone who wants to save the expensive vodka for parties, Ketel is a great buy. I would get at least 5 bottles to last at least half a year, for an avid drinker. It goes fast. Not too smooth, but not too harsh.
I enjoy my Ketel One with some oranges, but preferences vary. Any sweet fruit will do.
