| dragon1's Full Review: Micro Innovations Wireless Office Solution (KB975W... |
As you can imagine with 3 granddaughters from age 4 to 13 years old and all 3 using my computer, that my keyboards don't have a chance. They usually last less than a year.
So the last time my keyboard stopped working , my daughter took me to Wal-Mart so I could buy a replacement for it. I looked around and I saw the Micro Innovations Office Wireless Keyboard and mouse. The price was only $30, I thought it was a good deal. At the same time I bought a cheap $10 keyboard. Guess who uses that one.

.
User Manual READ BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE
Now I read the manual and it is very easy to hookup. The plugs to hook the reciever to the computer are PS2 and color coded. The reciever takes power off the connect to the computer.
I turned the computer on. Both the keyboard and mouse worked. After running the software on the floppies, you are asked to set up the mouse. The setup is very easy and there are nice additions with them. On the mouse you are asked right or left hand. Then you setup the buttons. I usually leave buttons 1/2 alone and setup the scroll or 3rd button for back. You can use this while looking at files on the harddrive/'s or for going back to previous website on the internet. You can also setup pointers,I use animated, setup other opitions.
On the keyboard you can set the hotkeys to Office mode or to default settings. You can also set for it to show Icons on the tray for when you have Cap lock on-Scroll on and Num lock on. On the reciever there are 4 leds- Scroll lock Num lock -Caps lock that glow when are active plus there is a low battery light only thing is it does not tell which is low.
There are a total of 12 hot keys that do what you have set for them. ( ) <-- Office setting
Sleep Mute (Office Tools) Volume decrease (Zoom out) Stop (Open Office Document) Play/Pause (MS Excel) Previous Track (Previous Document) Search (Decreases font size in Word) Favorites (Increase font size in Word) Internet Browseer/Home page (MS Word) Email (Email Clinet software)
As you can see you can do a lot with those 12 keys.
The only cons I can think of if like me your on the pc for approximatly 8-10 hours a day they do not last long.
I have one bad habit or should I blame my memory as for about 2 weeks after I post a review I remember something I forgot and I add to the review. So if you don't give me a VH check back you may like what I added.
