| seahealth's Full Review: GrandTec Virtually Indestructible FLX-1000 Keyboar... |
Just browsing in Radio Shack with no intent to buy anything I came across what I thought was a keyboard cover, but it turned out that it was indeed a keyboard itself. I was completely amazed as so was my husband, reason being is our computer is currently in our bedroom and it happens almost daily that one of us is in the computer while the other is trying to sleep. The tapping on the keys of the keyboard can be quite annoying when one is trying to sleep. Now if we could just find a mouse that doesn't make that clicking noise, we will both be happy.
We brought it home, and hooked it up to our xp machine with no problems whatsoever.
He tried it first and then asked me to give it a whirl since I am the one who is a much more proficient typer. When you press down on the keys, there is absolutely no sound whatsoever compared to any other keyboard I have used, so that problem is now solved. Silent typing, who would have thought it was possible?
My husband tells me he likes this keyboard better than any other he has used and makes a lot less mistakes with it.
Additionally, we now have peace of mind that nothing is going to get down into the keyboard because it is well enclosed inside of silicone. The manual warns you that it is not submersible, so don't take it in the tub with you! (joke).
Also this keyboard is highly portable, so if I ever feel the need I could take it with me to hook up to my laptop. The keyboard also takes up a lot less space than any keyboard I have ever seen, it is less than 1/2 inch in height and is completely flat in design.
It has 109 keys and has a similar layout to most keyboards with the number pad off to the right hand side.
It does take a little getting used to because the keys do tilt to the side as you are typing as they give to the pressure of the finger and don't necessarily go straight down.
It can be cleaned or sterilized easily.
