I am so disheartened that Kitchenaid would put this stove on the market. I thought I was buying a great-quality brand. I wish now I had researched more. Yes, this stove is DANGEROUS. I cannot tell you how many times it has turned on accidentally. I have lost two Tupperware containers and a dishtowel, and I am not careless. A poor young man repairing my backsplash tile almost set himself on fire, and burnt a huge hole in his tarp, even after I repeatedly warned him to watch the knobs. Just a brush will turn the burners on. I am worried one of my cats will somehow turn it on while I am away, and I plan to start throwing the breaker when we are traveling. I don't know what else to do. As I write this, I am ashamed of myself for not insisting Kitchenaid take this stove back. PLEASE do not buy this model. We have no kids, which is our only saving grace. There is a child-lock to keep the oven from being turned on. How hard would it have been to wire in the burners, too?

Also, the glass window in the oven mysteriously broke after just a few weeks. No one touched it, and I had not used the oven in over a week when I came home to find it shattered. It is an inside window, and made of safety glass, but still . . . ? I have been waiting all week to hear from the Kitchenaid authorized repairman what is going to be done. No one can explain why this happened.
I feel like such an idiot, and I am ashamed of Kitchenaid, which I had always thought was an excellent manufacturer. I begged my husband for this stove, which we did not really need. Now I have to get up my nerve to tell him I think it is too dangerous for us to keep. From what I have read here, I know Kitchenaid is not going to do anything to help us. So we are out $1200. By the way, I have the white one, (PWW) not the stainless (PSS), but since all the KESA907 reviews are here, I thought this was the best place.
