ernietwerbel's Full Review: Kodak EasyShare CX7300 Digital Camera
My Logitech camera broke, so I bought this. So far it seems to have been a good investment. The LCD screen allows you to preview your image. The flash can be set on or off, and it can also take pictures in black-and-white or sepia tone.
The software isn't particularly that useful. I sell a lot on eBay, so I'm always taking pictures. When you plug in the camera to the USB wire, it becomes a new hard drive (I:\ in my case). I found it easier to transfer files from the new hard drive than to figure out how to use the software.
You can also record up to 56 seconds of videos, either as a continuous stream, or as many separate videos as you choose.
Although the camera does not have an actual zooming lense, you can magnify up to 3X, which is fine for listing things on eBay. Personally, I have never had to zoom at all. I just make sure the object(s) fit in the screen and I take the photo.
The camera should get a number one for ease of use. Once you get the hang of transferring files, you can do away with the software completely and resize them in paintbrush. What I do it transfer the file (about 2MB each) to the directory on my E: hard drive where I upload images from, open them in Pain, shrink down to 33 per cent of the original size, and the resulting file is a JPEG under 100KB with no loss in quality.
I was at first intimidated by the menu system but it becomes very easy to use. There are 5 buttons on the left: 4 directional and an "OK" key in the center. You use these to make selections, cycle throgh preview shots, etc.
Quality is very good even on the lowest quality setting. It would seem that 3.2 megapixels would be fine unless you're using it for professional use. The camera can store 21 photos at the highest quality, and 73 photos at the lowest (which is still quite good).
One small obsticle is the high battery usage. I used it for about 12 hours and the batteries died. The camera does use two AA's, so it's not difficult, nor is it expensive, to get replacements.
Overall it is a very good camera. I would recommend it to anyone.
