Pros: Clear crisp pictures, beautiful color, able to shoot black and white.
Cons: manual could be better, small on and off button.
The Bottom Line: I love the camera and would recommend it to anyone. It takes a little more learning curve then previous ones, but that could be me.

For Christmas this year, my husband bought me a camera. He knew I wanted a camera that had a zooming lens where I could take close-ups or long range pictures of the birds and boats outside our house on the lake. I couldn’t have dreamed up the camera he came home with. He out did himself this year by buying the Kodak EasyShare DX7590 Digital Camera.
He took a class that they were holding at Best Buy to learn how to use the camera and all it could do. Let me tell you it does a lot.

Features
The Kodak Color processing chip. What this does in essence is every time you snap the camera the chip makes instant decisions, that make your pictures come out clear and sharp.
The Lens are professional quality by SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON I don’t know who this is but I am sure all the camera buffs know.
The camera lets you get clear pictures up to 20”by30” that’s a big picture. The pictures I print out are 4x6.
The different modes you can use are

Sports, Scenery, Flowers, night, beach, fireworks, etc they thought of everything.
The colors can be set to; black and white, sepia, high color, low color and natural color.
The camera can make a video with sound to be played on your computer.
The camera is easy to set up, put the rechargeable battery into the camera but only after it has charged for three hours with a plug that fits your electrical outlets.
The camera is not quite as simple as click and shoot, but if you know where the shoot button is, that’s right it is the button on the top, you can probably do that. Next to the viewing area there is a little dial that has different symbols on it, I am learning what each of those mean now, I have three down pat. The little circle with the symbols is green when in use. There is a little button in the center that is like a joy stick it goes four ways and also by pushing it twice you can delete the pictures in the memory. The buttons under this are delete, menu and review. The on and off switch is a little tiny button that I use a pin to turn on and off. It is next to the button that controls the lens.
Pros
The pictures are sharp and clear.
Flash is built in but you can decide when to use it.
Rechargeable battery
By clicking the wide angle lens button you can make a picture you have all ready taken get closer up or farther away, Neat huh.
The Camera dock that comes with it is small enough to fit right into the camera case that we bought to hold both.
Accessories and memory cards are available at most stores that sell camera equipment.
I love the fact that it is rechargeable.
Cons
You have to read the directions to figure it out. It was not user intuitive to me.
The on and off button is too small and hard to find if you can’t see well.
I believe the owners manual could have been more detailed by putting up the meaning of the words that most people would not be familiar with unless they are photographers or camera buffs.
My Experience
When we first started using the camera at Christmas, I was amazed at the results. The five megapixel really makes a difference in the clarity of the pictures and also if ordering from a photo place they can be enlarged where as the pictures I was taking with my old digital camera can only be used for making wallet sizes, they are just not as clear as the photos the new camera takes.
Looking through the electronic view finder was hard for me simply because I need new glasses. My husband had no trouble making out the different marking and words that are shown. The LCD screen {I call the view finder} is easier for me to use. I can see the picture that is shown there and what it looks like before I snap the picture.
Putting the pictures on the computer is easy it is done just like the other digital I had. When you plug the USB cord into the camera and then into the USB connection on the computer, the Kodak transfer comes up automatically. The pictures can then be transferred where ever you want.
Before I got my Kodak Printing Dock plus up and running, I wanted some pictures of my daddy that were taken when he was a young man. Since my dad died my brother wanted some of the pictures that were stored on my computer. I went to Ofoto and they could only give me wallet sizes of dads pictures and some others that were taken with my old camera. However the pictures that had been taken with the Kodak DX 7590 were good enough to make 4x6 photos or better.
When the pictures came back I could not believe the difference in the photos. The pictures that were taken with the new camera were gorgeous bright clear color and vivid images. Needless to say we were thrilled.
I am learning more and more about the camera every day and every time I use it I find myself amazed at what it can do.
