Pros: very portable, great quality pictures, good accurate colors, firmware upgradeable, good price, 3x optical zoom
Cons: Slow 'turn-on' time, proprietary battery, problem focusing on low light conditions or macro mode
The Bottom Line: This is great as first time camera or just as good for an upgrade (getting into the 5 mega pixels arena)

This camera has payed itself more than once already. The quality of the pictures is pretty good, specially when taking photos outdoors. People tell me "wow...what kind of camera did you take this pics with?"
The portability is awesome. It's so compact that I can keep it in my pocket all the time.
The body is metal and therefore very durable.
Having a double slot (SD and Memory Stick) let you use both or just "transfer" pictures from another camera using the other memory card.
And one of the main reasons I bought this camera was its USB connectivity. It is recognized by any OS as a "storage device". So I can give people their pictures right away into their computers (You still need the USB cable, that comes with the camera, to do the transfers).
Some of the issues (if you want to capture something fast) is the shutter lag and the "turn-on" time of the camera.
Battery life is also a little low.
One of the problems you will find with this camera, as well as some other digital ones, is problem with low light. It is hard for the camera to focus automatically. Also the flash could be too strong for the picture.
Another issue is some times it gives you a hard time focusing in macro made (taking pictures really close to the objects or pictures of very small objects).
I had used other cameras before and I was very pleased with the usability, quality of pictures and quality of colors of this handy camera.
Another issue to take into consideration is the proprietary battery: If your charge fails, lets say during vacation, you are out of luck to take pictures. You won't find this battery in a store nor the charger (It happened to me).
Recently I found out that is firmware upgradeable. Even tho the company might not be making another upgrade, the one up there on the internet gives some nice new features.
There are many great things about this camera, but I decided to point out some of the "not so great" issues so that you are aware of what you are going to get.
Would I recommend to buy this camera to a non-professional photographer? Sure. I actually do.
