mylesaway's Full Review: Krups FME4 12-Cup Coffee Maker
My wife and I had a Krups Pro Aroma machine for years and thought it was great. So we liked the design of this new model and thought Krups was reliable.
They are not.
We bought a machine and for the first few days we were very impressed with the coffee it made. We were happy. Then...
We began to notice that the water level marker on the side of the machine began to develop water bubbles. And then, we noticed that the bubbles got bigger and bigger as time went on. We tried everything, blowing in the water level compartment, pouring the water slower or faster, at different angles, etc. etc.
Nothing worked. And the water bubbles made it impossible to measure the correct amount of water being poured into the machine, which eventually rendered this machine useless.
I called Krups for assistance, and they said they had never heard of the problem. But they did say I could mail my machine in to one of 2 service centers in the entire Southern California area, and in about 6 to 8 weeks I would get it back. How I was suppose to make coffee during that time, the gentleman at Krups didn't know.
Eventually, we just brought the machine back to where we bought it and replaced it with a new coffee maker. Same machine.
First couple of days it's great.
And then the bubbles started again!!!! And this time they are even worse!
So we are taking our machine back and will get another coffee maker. I assure you it won't be Krups.
