Pros: The live up to their warranties. Friendly, helpful support team. Top-notch computers.
Cons: Dust can cause laptop to overheat, but this is easy to fix and prevent.
The Bottom Line: Their staff is friendly and they really do go out of their way to help you. They live up to their warranties, 100%. I wouldn't buy a computer anywhere else.

| photojunkie86's Full Review: Dell Inspiron 1100 (1100SAP) PC Notebook |
I bought a dell because of the good company reviews and because I could fully customize it. I got it last year in April. The base computer was around $700 but I wanted more than it included so I added on alot of things for a total of about $1,800.
Here's all it's got //
Pentium 4
2.0 GHZ
512mb Memory (Up to 1GB)
60GB Hard Drive
Fast CD-Rom/Burner/DVD
2 USB 2.0 Ports
Windows XP Home
Ethernet & Modem
64mb Shared Video
PCMCIA Slot
14.1 Inch Screen
TV Hookup
An Extra Battery
& A 4 Year Complete Care Warranty
My only complaint about this laptop is that it does not include a floppy drive or a hookup for the old mice and joysticks. So I had to go out and buy a usb joystick to replace my old one. That was kinda hard to find.
Other than that I am really glad I bought this computer. I would recommend it to almost anyone looking for a laptop. If not this one, then you gotta get a Dell. Trust me, the Complete Care Warranty is worth so much more than you pay. It covers just about everything. Whether you accidently spill coffee on your laptop or accidently drop it, your covered. I dropped my last laptop, which was an HP and wasn't covered for things like that, so I was stuck with half-off screen until I could afford another computer. Please don't make that mistake, get a Dell! I promise you won't regret it. ;)
Bottom Line //
If your gonna get a laptop, you have to get a Dell with a complete care warranty. Trust me, it's more than worth it.

Update // February 4th, 2006
After having my laptop for almost three years, I thought it was time to give this review an update. So far I have had a few minor problems.
The first happened about a year ago. I was having some trouble with my cd-rom drive, so I searched online and after finding nothing helpful I decided to contact Dell Support. Within 24 hours they sent me an e-mail saying they were going to send me a new cd-rom drive for free (as long as I sent the old one back). So, in a few days I had a new cd-rom drive that I was able to install myself without any trouble. I really loved this as with HP I always had to send my laptop to them and it was weeks before I got it back.
The second time I had a problem was with my motherboard. The little input for my headphones was feeling kinda loose and was affecting sound quality. So, again I e-mailed Dell and this time they were going to have someone install it for me. I figured I would have to send it to a nearby repair shop for a few days but instead they did something I never expected. In two days I was contacted by a technician who had just flown in, had the part, and was ready to install it that night if it was okay. I was like, "Sure!" and within an hour he was at my kitchen table fixing my computer. While working he also found that one of my memory modules was bad and he said he'd have them send me another one (free!).
I don't think I'll ever buy anything but a Dell ever again. Their support is exceptional and they really do live up to their warranties, 100%. (I recommend the 4-Year Complete Care Warranty. It's well worth the price. ;)
-- One thing I would like to note is that the fan will get dust trapped in it and sometimes overheat but this can easily be solved by blowing a can of air, (they're cheap and you can find them wherever computer accessories are sold), into the fan vents.
