While I prefer this computer over a PC, it would not be my first choice to buy as a used computer. I have had this laptop for about six years. I have upgraded it to Mac OS. 10.4 and boosted up the RAM, graphic card and so on. Therefore, I do not see a need to buy a new notebook. The speed is OK and the computer is still running. I am a Mac and PC user and have not had the same experience with PCs. I had to replace my Toshiba after 3 years, since upgrading from Windows ME to XP made it very slow. The are drawbacks for this computer. First of all, it is too heavy. Secondly, the battery life is too short. Third, I had to replace the screen, because it was dimming and there were two stripes in the middle for some unknown reason. Another negative point is that the case is incredibly soft and it tends to crack very easily (especially underneath). The keyboard, mouse, and everything else are in good shape. I guess every positive point I can say about it is because of being a Mac (especially due to having a Mac OS.X) and on the other side, every negative point is because of being an old model.
