Pros: It had a 2.4Ghz processor, plenty of speed.
Cons: It sped into a wall.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy. There is no reason to suffer when plenty of other brands are available.

| bravery13's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Compaq Presario 1525US (470046-473... |
This was the worst computer I had ever owned and used. Over the years I have owned six computers (including two desktop Compaqs), now on my sixth, and used a multitude of others on a daily business.
The Presario 1525US was to be my school computer, which would be required to do an extraordinary amount of computing with large programs (rendering, CAD, etc.) -- which maybe in the end became the problem.
For two years I had owned the computer. There was not a three month span where it did not cause problems. I had sent the computer back to Compaq under its one-year deal because it kept shutting down. They sent it back stating there was no problem (?). After that, two months went by and it did it again. This time it was sent back under the extended warranty for the same problem. They replaced the fan.
Not long after, again, it shut itself off. Over and over -- however, this time had a twist: it never restarted, and this was during my final project in graduate school. Sent it back once more, and they decided to replace the fan, harddrive, and mouse pad controller. Ah, good as new.
Nope. Ran well for a about a month, and then the same thing happened again. Never started back up. This was a little more than a week ago from this epinion (October 12, 2004). I will never buy a fourth Compaq anything. For any reason.
