Do not buy this or extended warranty from Toshiba

I would not recommend this product nor would I recommend wasting your money buying the extended warranty from Toshiba. From day one the DVD burner never worked which I didn't really worry about because I didn't buy it for that feature. But then, 14 months into ownership the hard drive completely crashed on me. Keep in mind that this has been used as my home computer and used very gently. It's not like this has been on the road being subject to any rough handling conditions. Yes, I lost everything family photos, etc., (stupidly I wasn't really backing up much due to my thinking that computer was so new that I wouldn't have to worry about it not to mention the DVD burner was non working). Anyways, thankfully (or so I thought) I had purchased a 3 yr extended warranty with a 5-7 business day turnaround. Well, it's been three weeks now and Toshiba is supposedly still waiting on a frickin' hard drive! Can you believe they don't have hard drives? So when I call repeatedly asking "what is Toshiba going to do for me?" or "what is Toshiba's explanation for having my computer 3 weeks and counting?" I get, "were sorry sir for your inconvenience", blah, blah, blah. 3 weeks, and no known date of when I'll be getting my computer back. Two thumbs down on Toshiba:(
