The Satellite 5205 703S is probably one of the best computers I've ever owned - and I've owned many. This is my first laptop and I was concerned about its stability - but not to worry, this PC is terrific.
It runs smoothly, has great screen and sound, comfortable keyboard touch, and lots of power to multi-task. It was also very easy to set up on a wireless network using a cable modem - the internal card is compatible with the LinkSys wireless connection equipment I used.
It has so much, I guess it just couldn't fit the floppy drive, but with the CD and DVD, I find I just don't need it as often. I bought a $50 external floppy drive which works just fine.
It's not a laptop you would want to buy if you're carrying it around all the time, I would recommend a more compact PC than the Satellite - I think of it more as a desktop replacement.
I was a little surprised that it came with XP home instead of XP professional for its size and price, but I haven't been hindered at all given the type of work I do.
I've owned the computer for about 5 months without a hitch. You could probably get it for less money on the Internet, but I wanted to be able to take it back to CompUSA within 14 days if necessary, so I paid the price.
