claybuster's Full Review: Leupold Wind River RB800C Rangefinder
I was looking originally for a good pair of binocs and a rangefinder for hunting. After deciding that purchasing both separately would be more than the RB800, I decided to buy a pair. I have a Leupold riflescope and love it. Overall, I am really pleased with the RB800. The lenses are very bright (for 32mm) and the unit is simple to use. There are only two buttons: one turns on the power and measures the distance (both stationary and moving), the other switches from yards to meters and back. It is an 8x binocular. The unit is fairly lightweight (23 oz.)and comfortable to hold. It pulls apart, as opposed to normal "folding" binoculars, to compensate for interpupillary distance. There is no central focus- each eyepiece must be focused separately. If you focus at 200 yards, it is set for most distances. My eyes are different, as are most, so this is not a huge issue. If you hunt varmints or otherwise shoot at distances over 550 yards (animal) or 850 yards (inanimate object), this may not be the best setup for you. If you are going to use it for big game or archery, the RB800 is definitely worth looking in to. The product comes with a really nice hard-sided case and a neoprene strap. For a little over $650, I think that this is a nice package. It also comes with a two year limited warranty.
