The Bottom Line: If you want a HIGH quality photo printer that you can also use for everyday printing, and don't want to go broke, the Lexmark P707 is for you!!!

I have been in the market for a new printer for a while now but had been putting off spending money on the quality of printer I wanted. My trusty old Lexmark 1100 served me well but after 5 years it was ready to retire. In the past 2 years I have greatly increased my digital photo-taking, so I especially wanted a printer that I could use to print photos. (Ordering from online photo Web site is great, but can get costly).
I was flipping channels one day when I came across QVC. The special value was the Lexmark P707 Photo Printer. After watching the hosts print many photos that appeared to be high quality, I ordered the printer, secure in the knowledge that QVC's 30-day, no questions asked, return policy would give me ample time to try it out. I have also had experience with QVC's technical customer assistance and it is wonderful! Although I have set up many computer systems and never had a problem, I knew that if I had a problem, help was only a toll-free call away! Another bonus was the included USB cable and 5-pack of 8x10 Glossy Photo paper.
After an agonizing 5-day wait, my printer arrived and I could not get it set up fast enough!! It took no time at all, the software was a snap to install, and within 10 minutes I was all set. I chased my pets around the house to get photos of them, and set off to test my printer. I had some 4x6 glossy photo paper that was already opened, so I inserted the Compact Flash card from my camera into the appropriate slot in the printer, and Voila! The Lexmark Photo Editing software opened and there were my photos waiting to be printed. It could NOT have been easier!! I do have to say the first photo took a while to print but the later photos came out VERY quickly. And, of course, you can open, edit, and print photos that are saved on your computer. Along with the Lexmark Photo Center software, the P707 also came with an ArcSoft Photo software CD, which contains a Collage Creator, Greeting Card Creator, and standard photo editing programs. I have never used either of these software programs before but I didn't even need to read any instructions...just by opening the program I was able to figure out how to use it and had my beautiful photos printing in less than 10 minutes.
Now for the BEST part--the quality of the photos. All I can say is WOW!!! I wish there were some way for me to show them online. I absolutely CANNOT tell that these photos were printed on an inkjet printer and not a photo lab. I even brought some to a friend today and she asked where I got custom postcards made. The colors are so true and the detail is unparalleled by any inkjet photo prints I have seen. There are 2 cartridges included with the Lexmark P707, the first being a normal color cartridge and the second a photo cartridge. You can also get a regular black cartridge (which you insert in place of the photo cartridge) for your text and color printing, so you do not need to buy a separate printer for everyday use.
Overall I have to say this is the best value printer I have ever purchased. I was impressed with the quality of my Lexmark 1100, but that was nothing compared to the Lexmark P707!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this printer for anyone, from a computer novice to the most technically savvy computer owner.
