I had really thought I bought a good dvd recorder considering how good Lite On is on their computer drives. Well ...WRONG!!!
I was disappointed after the first 5 minutes of playing back a SP recording.It has a very grainy picture on any setting.The controls are
finicky . Pause will not hold in record mode over 10 seconds so as to switch a source tape out to add to your dvd . The manual tries to tell you how to do a different recording and then the recorder will not do it.It has a long manual about every feature but they don't work like it says in the book. They have obviously left out some steps on how to use some of the better features and menus...geeez . There is no way to understand most of the button features and how to edit the video.The menu features are not easy to use. Like I said the manual is like reading Greek..not user friendly. I am a professional FCP editor and cameraman. So I'm telling ya the manual is useless.

Disappointing model from Lite-on. Will look at Sony and Panasonic for now on. This unit refused to record any dvd media right after after warranty ran out.



Update 6-7-07
Bought a very nice recorder at Walmart for $120. Model is a Philips 3390 and it plays divxx too! Simple recording and controls. Good stuff.
