Pros: Expensive look. Ergonomical mouse. RF works great for both. Has mostly convenient, customizable buttons.
Cons: Not recommended for excessive users, too heavy. Doesn't glide well for precisiveness. Batteries die quick.
The Bottom Line: Expensive look, but mouse is heavy, really affects the whole arm with excessive use. I've had minor problems with the drivers. Keyboard is hard to read in low light.

| raccoonish's Full Review: Logitech Cordless Desktop® LX 700 Keyboard an... |
I liked this mouse at first, because it came with a matching keyboard and charger. And it was attractive!
About a year ago I bought this set at Office Max for $99 - reg. price. I like the colors (dark blue and silver with a touch of chrome-like trim) and the feel of it in my hand. It is a left or right hander, but the way the side buttons are placed, it's more convenient for the right-handed person, IF they want to use the side buttons (I don't, except by accident).
The mouse is optical, there is no ball. It requires two rechargeable batteries (included) which weighs a bit more than a ball does. It comes with an attractive, matching charger that also displays the keyboard lights that glow a soft green - Caps Lock, Num Lock and Function Key, etc.
The mouse buttons are all customizable. The wheel scrolls up and down, clicks side to side for sideways scrolling, and clicks down for any direction scrolling by moving the mouse. It works very nice, not overly sensitive and not too stubborn for clicking.
The application switching button is right below the scroll wheel and I use it often.
The two buttons on the left side are not very handy for me. They get in my way with normal use of the mouse and they are a little too sensitive.
The batteries that came with it are losing their charge very quickly now, everyday (it's been about a year of regular use).
The weight of the mouse - with 2 AA batteries - is a little tiring after a while with excessive maneuvering when picking it up to move it back into place. Plus, they are in a poor location in the back of the mouse and should be more in the center. This causes awkward movements of the mouse.
Because there is no ball to glide around on, the mouse just has four little strips of smooth plastic on the corners. Right away I noticed that it didn't glide like a ball. It actually is slightly sticky when I stop and go. It causes over-action of the wrist and over-shooting in trying to have precise movements, such as in playing action games or graphics designing.
So, the awkward weight and the stickiness really takes a toll on my whole arm after a while.
The keyboard is MS Windows Media Player compatible and also customizable. There are quick access buttons for playing music, volume control, My Media, My Pictures, My Documents, e-mail, websites, and more. There's even a scroll wheel and a zoom button on it. I mostly use just the media player buttons because I can use it with my CREATIVE® Media Player, too.
They keys are very quiet and easy to push. I've never had a physical problem with this keyboard, and never had to change the battery.
The Logitech drivers and software on the other hand, could stand some work. It comes with its own media player interface, but doesn't have any fast forward/rewind, playlist creation, etc. options. I have had a few problems with Logitech drivers being not very compatible with my computer. It messed with me a few times, but I couldn't seem to fix those problems. Just recently my keyboard and mouse aren't working in a specific game (S.W.A.T. 4) and I have tried reinstalling the game. Still nothing. I think it's the drivers. It has nothing to do with the physical keyboard and mouse.
