| marthas1's Full Review: Magellan 750 NAV Car GPS Receiver |
I purchased a Nav 750M about a month ago, after significant research into GPS systems. I chose this model because it is completely portable, does not require installation of any type, and is designed to easily move from vehicle to vehicle. It is packaged in a case similar to the size of the old bag cell phones, with a 12V connection for power, and a disc antenna. I have a new job which requires extensive city driving in unfamiliar territory. We also own a motorhome and travel frequently, so we wanted a unit that we could use in all vehicles. The Nav 750M met both of these requirements.
I was initially skeptical about how it would perform...and was instantly shocked at how accurate it was in the city, suburbs, and back roads. The display is clear and easy to read, and simple to use. If I choose to leave a calculated route at any time, it will automatically recalculate from the road I turned onto. I am highly pleased with it's performance.
The only difficulty I had was trying to insure it. As it is a new product, the insurance company didn't know how to insure it. It isn't covered by car insurance because it is not permanently installed. Our homeowner's will cover it for only $1000 as an electronic devise. Hopefully it won't be stolen.
I would recommend this product to anyone...easy to use, accurate, and "company" when driving!
