I use it with my laptop and pocket pc (Reply to this comment)

I have been using a GPS 310 for several years and it has been great for use with computer and pocket pc map applications (MS Streets & Trips 2002, 2005, Pocket Streets and Delorme Street Atlas). Battery life has been 8-12 hrs continuous use for cross country trips. I thought about buying the power/data cable but I can buy a lot of batteries for $35. I suppose if I used it more than casual trip use I would get the power/data cable vice the plain serial cable I have now.
