I got this gps at Sports Authority. It was on clearance for $120 down from $200 so i thought i got a pretty good deal on it. Anyways, the GPS is waterproof and it also floats. I didn't try to see if it floats but i know its at least waterproof because i dropped it in a muddy puddle while going Geocaching. Go to www.geocaching.com for more information about this. Its really fun.
I took this geocaching to 3 different spots and each time it got me to within 10 feet or so of the mark. The accuracy of this gps lingers around 10 feet about everywhere you go. Although every now and then it tells me it has an accuracy of 3 feet. It has a backlight to it as well. An indiglo backlight similar to a watch. The backlight has 3 settings. Press the button once, and it turns on, press it again and it gets a little brighter, one more time and it turns it off. I gotta say though, there is not a whole lot of difference between the dimmer and brighter setting.
Ok the menus. The menus are pretty straight forward. to cycle through the different menus, you press the NAV button until you get to the menu you want get too. Then you got the MENU button which gives you options of what you want to do. It lets go set waypoints, mark landmarks, delete landmarks, set alarms for when you are backtracking and you are getting too far off course it will tell you so...etc
The batteries seem to last a long time. I have been using this off and on for about a week now and it is nearing the end of the battery life. So its good for me.
