Pros: Seemed to cool the room.
Cons: Noisy! Fedders gave wrong service provider after half an hour on hold. Then failed worse!
The Bottom Line: The unit was incredibly noisy.
Avoid Maytag/Fedders. You wait on hold forever
to learn of 3rd party service providers who don't serve your town. Follow-ups did not help.

I saw the unit in Home Depot, and figured that because it had a pretty LCD that it was one of the new generation of efficient quiet AC's.
I was RATHER surprised by the loud racket it made when running the compressor. And watching it cycle the compressor on and off about every three minutes made me think it might be defective.
I called the 800 number for warranty service and after half an hour on hold said, "I want someone who knows what they're doing to tell me if it should cycle ever 3 minutes and be this loud normally." They could only give me the number of my "nearest authorized service provider". They don't service my town.
The web site offered the same wrong place.
I gave the zip code for the next town over to get a different service provider.
No joy.
I called back and after 20 minutes on hold someone promised to get me relief. The next day I got a call from that other provider saying they don't service my town either.
I exchanged email with front line, but NOBODY took responsibility for dealing with this situation.
Home Depot put me in touch with the store manager who immediately offered to take the unit back. Home Depot exceeded my expectations. However, I won't be buying anything any more from Maytag or their Manufacture/Service center Fedders.
