Cons: Easily mastered, No Venus or Kornikova.
No real venues.
The Bottom Line: This is not a bad game. It plays reasonably well, but it's sorely lacking in the features and replay value department. Don't be like me rent it first!

I picked up WTA Tour Tennis for PlayStation 2 on sale at Best Buy. After playing it for about three hrs., I wanted to take it back. Now it's for sale on Ebay. Here's why:
Graphics
The graphics are acceptable, not bad, not overly good either. Nice fluid motion & animations. The swing animations are well done. There is not too much more I can add here. In the graphics area I had no complaint.
Game play / Control
This is a sore spot. First of all the game is too slow, the players move and react slowly. The swing timing is too delayed as compared to your button press. After a while you can get adjusted to the delay, but it just does not feel right, it feels flawed.
Secondly, the game is way too easy, even on the hardest setting in two hours I was beating everyone 6-2, 6-2 or even worse. Once you get the feel of the game its very easy and repetitive. Your opponents pretty much all play the same, it was very hard to notice any major differences in play styles or difficulties in the players.
Sound
The sound is a bit sub par. Some nice up tempo rock or hip hop is badly needed. The music is very bland and generic. The tennis sounds in the game are sufficient; you’ll also hear some slight audience talk. Again very bland. Yawn..
Options / Features
Sorry nothing special here either. You have you basic tournament mode, singles, doubles and exhibition.
There are only about 15 players in the game, you cannot create your own and many of your favorite ones are not included.
Also there are no official tournaments, no Wimbledon, no French or US Opens. Just knockoffs...how disappointing.
Summary
This is not a bad game. It plays reasonably well, but it's sorely lacking in the features department. Don't be like me rent it first!
