Pros: Fast, easy to install, cheap, works well

Cons: you lose a little bit of speed - wish it were more powerful

The Bottom Line: I recommend this for anyone who wants to get up and running on a laptop or other location in their house or apartment.

We needed to use our computer at a location where there was not a cable. The current location was right next to the TV which made it hard to work on the computer.

Our choices were to call the cable company and have them rewire the apartment to where we wanted the computer or do it ourselves. We chose the latter.

We went to Radio Shack and purchased the Wireless Base Station and had it up and running in about 1 hour. The gist is you hook the base station to the cable and it sits vertically sending out a signal through an antenna.

You hook up the receiver antenna to your computer or laptop and voila - connection to the internet. There are a few other steps to loading it up for example a CD comes with the box and you must install it.

It's quick, cheap and works well. The signal strength is good (we had to move it around a little to get the best reception) and surfing the net anywhere in the house is a real option.

This works really well when members of the household want to watch TV or work on the computer at the same time.
