stephameyer's Full Review: Microsoft Pandora's Box for Windows
Pandora's Box has proved to be more addictive than coffee for me. It's a truly wonderful game with a marvelous variety of puzzles.
We purchased this game after my husband saw a demo of it and heard rave reviews from co-workers. I was moderately excited about it. I just usually don't get into computer games like my hubby does. I did have more interest in this one, though, since it was puzzle-based.
Let me sum up the gist of the game.... Pandora had a box and it stored these sneaky little tricksters in it. Somehow they got out and your "job" in the game is to solve puzzles to help you find each trickster. The puzzles get increasingly harder as you go along. The puzzles include :1)Rotascope, where you try to rotate pieces in an outer and inner ring to complete a picture, moving only one piece at a time; 2)Focus Point, where the photo has been broken up into smaller pieces of varying size and then scrambled and you have to solve it by swapping pieces; 3)Jesse's Strips, where you go back and forth between multiple frames of the same photo trying to place multiple tiles; and seven other types of puzzles. You "travel" around the world solving these puzzles. One of the side bonuses is that the puzzles that you solve are photos or pieces of art from around the globe. They are fabulous to look at.
I really can't get enough of this game. I love the puzzles and the visual aspect of this game. I'm really hoping that there is some sort of sequel to this game. My husband and I are lamenting the fact that we only have one computer at home and have to swap playing the game!
This game would make a great gift to the computer savvy puzzle lover. It also is compatible with Win 2000 which is nice for us.
