I was first introduced to and fell in love with Miele appliances while living in Switzerland. When it came time to renovate our kitchen, we loaded up on Miele (stove, cooktop, steamoven, vent hood). This is the only purchase I vaguely regret.

I'm a former chef, and it always surprises my friends that I would put a ceramic cooktop in my kitchen. In my experience, the easy of cleaning and flexibility to positions pans on/off the heating element trump the heat control benefits of gas. Also, it should be noted that the heat dispersion on these ceramic cooktops is actually MORE even than what you get with gas. Trust me, if you value convenience of a stove that literally wipes cleans, you'll love these cooktops.
As such, there's nothing wrong with this cooktop. Technically it delivers as promised. But there are lots of choices in this space and I've come to the conclusion that thermador and wolf have better touch controls, namely a single dial that allows you to hit, say, "7" without having to tap up or down, along with automatic pan size sensors. Both of which I've used and have found to be handy.
Miele is behind the curve with their cooktop controls. Wish I'd gone with the Thermador or Miele
