Miller "Red Lable" is a very respectable beer. The common mistake when one asks for a "Regular Miller" is a watered down High Life. I kindly reject it and then try to explain about the one I want. Unfortunately it isn't easily available in all Markets.
I drink an variety of beers on occasion, and when I do, I want a quality beer. The misconception is that modern day brewers brew it quick and ship it out and don't care about the quality. It is not true for all brewers. While Miller ,Bud,Coors and others do it with some brews that are just too obvious that give validation to that claim, this particular Miller product is the exception.
This is a bold, heavier bodied beer that is equally spiced, hopped, and brewed.
Miller's Red Lable beer can compare to Samuel Adams in some areas, as far as body, not 100%, Sam Adams is in another class, but a fair comparison can be made.
Color: Balanced dark yellow
Aroma: Hops are noted and grain is present.
Body: Medium not too bold.
Taste: The first taste on the pallet is refreshing and fresh.
Finish: There is no soapy, bitter aftertaste, nothing but the fine presence of fine grains, and hops.
Trying this beer is a refreshing walk off the beaten path in respect to it being produced by such a large mass producing company.
As far as domestics go Miller Red hands down over Budweiser, and Coors.
