| nabils's Full Review: Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 Digital Camera |
I have owned Dimage 7 and Dimage 7hi before buying Dimage A2, this camera has major flaws, very soft images regardless of what settings you change on the camera, auto focus is out of focus more than %50 of the time, yellowish while in most shots with flash. Poor automatic white balance in artificial light. Moiré visible near resolution limits. No AF assist lamp, this makes it hard to autofocus in dark situations. I think the lens is being used beyond it's capabilities for this kind of resolution, loss of details in the shots of this camera compared to other cameras like CANON P1. VERY HIGH noise in any ISO setting beyond 200 makes the shots unusable. Some of the problems are related to the SONY CCD that is on every 8 mp camera today, the size of this CCD is too tiny 2/3" Type sensor, compare that to the NIKON D70, with only 6 mega pixel, Nikon sensors size is 23.7 x 15.5 mm to any 8 mega pixel camera sensors size of (8.80 x 6.60 mm), the 8 mega pixel cameras sensor is too tiny and has so much resolution, it does not perform well and since the spacing of the pixels in minimal it suffers from color shifting due to static electricity being transmitted among the pixels, if you are looking to spend this kind of money do yourself a favor and get a Digital SLR, like Canon Digital Rebel, almost the same price, but if you want my advice go with the Nikon D70 which is superior to the Canon. Ask me questions.
