| wstaso's Full Review: Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 Digital Camera |
I have been using the A2 continuously since I purchased it in February 2004. I have not experienced the out-of-focus shots cited by others. I still have the same battery and it provides 200-300 photos consistently (I have a 1 GB and two 512K cards). I have enlarged many photos upwards of 12 x 16 inches in size and have been very pleased with the results (some of these photos have won awards at the local County fair, so I'm not alone in feeling the camera produces quality enlargements). I began using the camera in the studio, and the results were so impressive that I stepped up my indoors usage. I have posted some of these photos on my website. I used film based SLRs for over 20 years and while this camera does not match the sharpness I could obtain with those cameras, the opportunity to manipulate the images digitally makes it worth the switch. I love being able to see what I have taken through the viewfinder. I never use the LCD screen (I hate taking reading glasses with me). I take many shots with the viewfinder elevated, allowing more unique shots low to the ground. Perhaps the K-M people have had some issues with quality control with the A2, but the camera I purchased has served me well.
