Pros: Easy Hook up, Great Picture, Great sound
Cons: Manuals leave a little to be desired, Cost of adding HDTV equipment high
The Bottom Line: The WS-55411 is a great value, If you decide to buy the TV the best advice I can offer is to get a True Progressive scan DVD player.

| mpolivieri's Full Review: Mitsubishi WS-55411 55 in. TV |
I purchased this TV in Dec02 at a large electronics chain store, the listed price was about $2800, NEVER pay the listed price, if they could go down to $2093 and still make money that means theres a ridicules markup. The audio out option on the WS55411 is a nice feature, via patching cables you can run the out to an audio in on the amp to give surround to broadcasts that are mono, IE: cable, depending on the amp. The amount of component inputs is a nice feature and they all have their own memory so once you customize the audio and video settings for DTV you can change the input to DVD and custom configure those settings without effect to the DTV output. The only drawback to this TV is the additional cost to purchase the components that are HDTV ready, Sat. system with receiver, ECT. If you are looking for a HDTV TV that is above the mid range but not ready to kick out 10K for a plasma this is a good one to take a look at. I have not found anything as of this date that I don't like about this TV, Great Value, Great Picture, and Great Sound. (ADDED 1/16/03) There is another feature I neglected to mention that merits a note. The video inputs can be named in the set up as you use them, IE: Composite 1 can be named DVD or VCR or VCD ECT. Depending on what component you have hooked to that particular input, when you surf through the inputs with the remote the display on the screen will list what is active, also in the note about the number of A/V inputs I want to add that there are also a number of different ways the components can be hooked up. If you have an older DVD that uses RCA jacks (1 Video and 2 Audio) you will not have a problem hooking it up as well as a VCR that uses an "F" connector. If you have newer components that use Red, Green and Blue or HD that uses Y,Pb,Pr along with H or V sync. The TV will accommodate that as well. The inputs can display 480i 480P and 1080i.
