| mbcoop2000's Full Review: Mitsubishi WS-55805 55 in. TV |
I waited and waited but I had to jump at an HDTV system this summer. SO I have been watching regular NTSC TV, local SDTV, local HDTV, DirecTV, progressive scan DVD's, TiVo and S-VHS. I traded in a V-series Sony projection TV --- what a dream.
If you want tech specs, etc. -- visit the mitsubishi site at http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/ .. I don't do specs .. I give my opinion, my recommendations!
BUY THIS!
OK -- you have choices .. and I looked at Toshiba's, Pioneer Elite, and the plasma screens from Revox and the real expensive stuff.
The Mitsubishi has tons of connectivity (HD, progressive scan DVD, lots of S-VHS) ... I use all the above. Since there are very few HD tuners available, I am stuck with the RCA HD unit (it sucks) and the picture does not properly square up in the Mitsubishi screen. I am looking forward to the Sony HD receiver. Nonetheless, the local HD shows are awesome, the progressive DVD's mind-blowing, and satellite pretty darn good.
The highlights coming up will be a) every new DVD, and b) the Super Bowl in HD on CBS, c) the Masters in HD on CBS.
