Well I bought it for $2300.
[added comments.. had horrible glare problems with "diamond shield" cover installed. Black images acted as a mirror. Seeing myself as a couch potato is not what I purchased this set for ;-). Problem fixed by removing shield. It was a pain to remove... I kept on worrying about damaging the soft projection screen underneath, and on top of that, I cut myself on the sharp plastic.]
Picture is great - no lines at all. Like all projection TVs, picture dims noticeably if you are above or below a direct viewing angle. I have it against a window. Against a bright daylight backdrop the contrast can get quite washed out. Great for smaller space, like an apartment. I have mine placed under the window without a stand, so it doesn't block the natural sunlight. The remote control isn't particularly good or easy to use without looking at it. The internal (10 watt) speakers aren't good enough for day to day use.
OK. Made the mistake of not knowing about the wt46807, which is coming out in a few months. In the wt46807 specs there are numerous major enhancements to picture control and quality compared to the wt46805. Added are: Aperture control (I think this corrects the missing user picture offset, width and height controls in 805 model); added 3 viewing modes when using 480P (non-interlaced DVD) input - the 805's 480P input only supports anamorphic widescreen viewing mode; added 2 viewing modes to regular video input - 807 adds super zoom and non-linear stretch viewing mode to support non-letterboxed 2.35:1 and improved 4:3 fullscreen video presentation (805's interlaced video modes are 4:3 narrow letterbox, 16:9 zoom, anamorphic linear stretch). Also added is a second 480P input plug (good for the future, ie. would be useful if you had a Sony Playstation 2 and a DVD player/changer with 480P outputs). Line doubling, color motion response and comb filter are also said to have been enhanced - this should noticeably improve the already fine picture quality.
All in all, wait for the WT46807.
