Pros: Easy on the eyes, high resolution (1600x1200@85Hz), good looking exterior, USB hub, 100% flat screen.
Cons: absolutely none that i can think of.
Ok, i'm not a graphic expert, nor do i have wacks of experience with different flavours of monitors. But i do know a good monitor when i see one.
I've been shopping around for a new monitor for months now. I was torn between the new sleek and sexy LCD's and the good ol' bulky but cheaper CRTs. I've read reviews upon reviews to help me decide which one to get, and now i'm doing my share to dispense this information upon you. A good quality monitor is extremely important, since that's the thing you stare at each time you use your computer. I finally narrowed my choices down to the Samsung 900NF, LG 915FT Plus, LG Flatron F900P, and Viewsonic P95f+. I was leaning towards the Samsung 900NF, which seems like a solid monitor with nothing but good reviews. Unfortunately, Samsung decided to discontinue that model. Next, i looked at the 2 LG monitors and compared it with the less expensive Viewsonic P95f+, which i also heard good things about. The decision was tough, but i decided to go with the LG Flatron, since it's truly 100% flat inside out. Now, i matched the 2 LG monitors side by side in terms of specs and they're pretty much identical. The only difference i can see is the exterior shell, layout of the buttons, and the 915FT Plus being out in the market for 2 years versus F900P, which was released beginning of this year. With the price difference of $50CND/$30US.. i opt for the LG Flatron F900P because of it's good looking exterior.
Upon opening up the box and setting it up on my desk, i was instantly in love with this sexy monitor. It's got everything i was looking for (except the size of course). In terms of looks, specs, colour, etc.. this monitor certainly takes the cake. I kid you not when i say it's the best CRT i've ever seen in my life. I had to install the colourific software, drivers, and a little tweaking on the controls to get the perfect look (brightness, colour warmth, geometry, etc.)
I bought this monitor yesterday and i'm already writing a review on it. Why? Simply because i feel the monitor is worth every single penny i paid for it. I'm so excited about it that i logged back onto Epinion.com, which i haven't used for well over a year, to share this joy with all of you would-be owners. I highly recommend this monitor if it is within your budget.
