Pros: Shows a picture
Cons: Low usable resolution. Poor brightness and contrast. Dull colours. Useless warrantee.
The Bottom Line: Spend the extra $10 and get the Philips 107T5. The colours are way brighter and detailed.

Actually I walked into Vastech in Van to buy a Philips F107T5 17" monitor that I had admired. They were sold out and the salesperson talked me into buying this one without an audition. Never again! He said that it had higher resolution than the Philips 1200 x 1600.
Turns out that at this high resolution, there are faint but definitely bothersome horisontal stripes similar to those in real old TV's. So I had to try lower resolutions until the stripes disapeared. And guess what? They are gone at 800 x 600 pixels. This leaves a blocky look to curves and letters. Disapointing! Also the contrast and brightness has to be at maximum. Even then it is not as bright as my old 15" monitor. And the colours are kind of dull and greyish. Even playing around with the settings didn't help.
The store refuses to exchange it, even for a more expensive monitor.
Finally, I find out that should it need repair, I have to pay for shipping to and from the distributer who in out of town. That will cost as much as paying to have it fixed at the local shop around the corner.
