| laphaes's Full Review: Abit BE6-II Motherboard |
This is yet another great mother from one of the greatest motherboard manufacturers around. For all you overclockers out there, the soft menu III is the greatest thing around. The ability to increment the front side bus speed in 1 Mhz increments allows you to push the CPU to the limits of the chip and its cooling. The cpu and bus voltage are both adjustable from the same menu as well and make everything that much better.
Also included with this board is an ATA 66 controller chip. This allows the BX chipset on board to take full advantage of the new high capacity speed demon hard drives which every computer nerd building a system strives for.
The 5 PCI slots allow your to load your system with plenty of expansion cards. I have 4 slots filled now and the system is running rock solid with the processor over 100 Mhz over spec. Installation was simple, the manual more than adequate, and the general layout pleasing. This board will keep me a loyal ABIT customer and will make me check out their offerings the next time I upgrade before I waste my time looking anywhere else.
