| pilman's Full Review: Abit BE6-II Motherboard |
This product is based on the aging 440BX chipset but is still one of the absolute best motherboards available today. The BE6-II recently came out in a 1.2 version which now supports ATA/100 along with RAID Level 0. ABit has a reputation for being a power user's brand and this sure lives up to it. The SoftMenu III allows users' to have unprecedented ability to tweak voltages and the FSB (B23 pin has no affect in the BE6-II). No brand comes close to this quality. One cannot even compare this board to others. This board is not only for hardcore overclockers. The BE6-II has some of the best performance for the 440BX chipset boards out there. In addition, it works well for system integrators because of the new feature of DIP switches on the board. They allow one to set everything which SoftMenu III will do and override it. This will keep annoying tech"less" people from fooling with stuff that they should not. If you need a 440BX chipset board, there really is no other choice. This is the board.
