Even though this motherboard is not designed to be the board with the latest features it is by far more stable than any I have seen in the past. There were a few limitations that I was worried about while picking out this motherboard, its power supply needs, RAM limitations, and board size.
For the power supply I was a little worried when there are only 10 power supplies listed as recommended in the manual however was much more relieved when I went to the Athlon Web page and found that many other power supplies were compatible. It says to use at least a 300 watt power supply but I would recommend more. The board and processor required quite a lot of power.
Next was the RAM limitation. The FIC motherboard does not support PC 133 memory or SDRAM DIMM modules over 256 MB or memory modules with more than 18 chips. With only three DIMM sockets this only allows 768 MB of RAM. Not great numbers.
The board size turned out not to be a problem for me even though it is quite large (9.6" x 12"). Even with these limitations I still chose this board because of its stability. I have been running this board and processor for almost six weeks now pushing its limits everyday and still no problems. This is my most favorite board yet and would recommended it to anyone.
