Pros: Loads of features, great distance and battery life. Better bargain than most in this pricerange.
Cons: There aren't any real cons if you understand what your limitations are from the start.
The Bottom Line: If you're a middle of the road user like me: short spurts around the 'hood, some biking, family car trips and the like, you'll dig them.

My wife and I wanted a nice durable set of radios for around the house, camp, flea markets, etc. We went through some radios from Cobra and Audiovox before buying these Motorola T5720's. We don't require super-long range, but these radios seem to go the farthest distance, which is about 1.5 miles through reasonably heavy terrain (trees and buildings). Our biggest disappointment with other brands of radios is their large size, breakable plastic, crappy belt clip designs, unintuitive menu navigation and overall performance. Motorola seems to have it down pretty well. My parents have used the famous 250 models for the last 4 years without a hitch. These T5720's have a red LED that flashes every couple of seconds to let you know they're on, call feature, roger beep, easy menu navigation, nice belt clip design, carry strap, 3-segment battery meter, backlight, rechargeable batteries, etc. The max we've used these radios so far is about 6 hours, and with occasional talking the battery meter went down to the second bar after about the 5th hour. I would guess you could get well over 10 hours of useful time with these rechargeable units. I also believe you can get a tad more distance and talk time by using alkaline batteries instead of the included rechargeables. My only two slight niggles are that when you use the call button, your own radio is not silent, and that the volume control is a bit too easy to move. Neither is highly important. I'll take this analog volume control over those segment-style digital ones any day. Overall this is a great radio. We got a set of two at Radio Shack with rechargeable batteries, charging stand, strap, belt clip, etc. for $50.
