Logitech has always been known for making high quality mice. Even their basic mice show excellent precision, while also being durable and reliable.
This mouse, even though, an entry level unit, fits the bill. The optical tracking gives a high level of precise control, and the mouse acceleration is easily customized to one's preferences, using the Logitech software.
The mouse is slimmer than most other mice, so people with small hands might find this mouse to be more comfortable than other units. Despite its slim profile, though, people with average or larger hands, can certainly comfortably operate this mouse.
The two clickable buttons are responsive, and give good feeback. When using these buttons, you can actually feel a definite breaking point where the button "clicks," and that breaking point is very consistent from one click to the next.
The wheel gives pinpoint scrolling, and can be configured to be a third mouse button (when pushed down). The Logitech software allows the user to configure the function to many commonly used functions (double click, universal scroll, Back, Enter, etc).
The mouse is a very durable one. I've been using one for 4 years now, and it's still in great working condition. While the finish has started to flake off, that does not affect functionality at all.
Since it is an optical mouse, a plain colored cloth mouse pad will give you the best results. Don't use a multicolored mouse pad with an optical unit.
