Pros: easy to use and clean, reliable, reasonable price
It had been 20 years since my husband was in the military when an old military buddy contacted him by Facebook and after talking only a few times he decided that him and his wife were going to come visit us from Germany. It was at this time he told my husband that he would be bringing him some of the Jacobs Kroenung coffee beans as a gift because he knew it was my husband's favorite type of coffee when they were stationed in Germany together. However, this made me kind of panic because we did not have any means to grind the coffee beans. Which is why I ordered a Mr. Coffee grinder from Amazon just for the occasion. I was not sure what to expect when it arrived but I was actually amazed at how small, yet very attractive and sleek looking the style of the coffee grinder was.
Of course, what good is a coffee grinder without coffee beans to use in it which is why I also bought one bag of Starbucks coffee beans to experiment with in it. This way I could learn how to use it before my husbands friends arrived because I did not want to feel like an idiot just because I had never used a coffee grinder before. At first it was a bit confusing on how to operate the grinder because like most people I did not read the directions that came with it. However, once I opened the box and took out the coffee grinder I was amazed at how small, yet very attractive and sleek looking the style of the coffee grinder was.
Then after a few minutes of looking at it I managed to figure out how to set the grinder to grind the coffee to either fine, medium or coarse by using the buttons on the side of it. It has a bowl that you fill with coffee beans by lifting the large lid. Of course, there are lines on it that indicate how full you should fill the bowl with coffee beans to ensure it grinds them properly which helps out beginners like me.
Once the bowl is full of coffee beans and you have it is set for how you want the coffee beans to be ground you would then push the button on top of the lid to begin the grinding process and it automatically shuts off when it is completed. Then you can twist the top off and the bowl which unlocks it allowing for it to be removed from the grinder for easy use of coffee grounds and cleaning. On the side of the coffee grinder there is a chart that tells you what they recommend as to how many tablespoons full of coffee it takes to make so many cups of coffee. Overall, I have been extremely pleased with this Mr Coffee IDS77-NP coffee grinder in its performance, ease of use and price.
