nagels's Full Review: Mr. Potato Head Activity Pack for Windows, Mac
My wife bought this program for me as a joke because I collect Mr. Potato Head items. I use it occasionally to make greeting cards with a Potato Head look. For an adult this program doesn't have much replay value. For a young child this is a great, high interest program that kids will return to over and over again because of the variety of activities included. It is easy enough for a child to use because the command functions are represented by cartoonish pictures. Reading isn't required to navigate the program. A talking Potato Head also helps young users find the various activities.
The greetings card option has numerous potato head figures, props and backgrounds from which to choose. It is not very sophisticated, but it serves its purpose. Only one card panel at a time can be created and printed. I create the front of the card, print it, then create the inside page and run the card through the printer again. Youngsters can use this program to put puzzles together, make costumes, create coloring book pages to color on screen or off, and dress Mr. Potato Head in silly costumes. The dot to dot has some educational value because you can opt for numbers or letters to sequence to make pictures.
The graphics and sound effects in this program are top notch, and the 3-6 year old crowd should love it. I even found it amusing and entertaining myself.
