I am a middle-aged homemaker who can be addicted to games, just about any kind. I really love adventure games & challenging puzzles. I had heard about Myst only from ads & was intrigued by the picture on the cover of the game box. So, for Christmas this past year (1999), I bought it for myself for a gift from my Mom. (She lets us do that, so we can get what we really want!)
It has been a real effort to not play the game, when I should be doing chores! It just really draws you in. It seems that each time a puzzle is solved, you must go on to the next one. The graphics are great as is the audio. It was so realistic at times, that I was a little afraid to touch any buttons without acquiring more information on what they were for!
I did get 'stuck' or as the game says 'hit the wall' a few times, where I couldn't figure out what to do next. The hints helped just enough to get me thinking again.
