I purchased NHL 2000 just before the Christmas holiday. I heard good things about it from friends that had the game, but I never expected it to be this good!
NHL 2000 is the most realistic, competitive, graphic game available on the market today. There are so many options of play to choose from. You can play 1, 2, 3 or even 4 player. Not to mention the capabilities of over the net play verse opponents in other states, countries.
With NHL 2K, you can choose to play exhibition games, a playoff schedule, shootout, or even a full season with your favorite team. For beginners, as I started out, I recommend playing a few exhibition games before venturing into the season. There are also 3 different levels of play. Rookie, for the beginner, Pro for the Intermediate and All Star for the advanced. I recommend moving up in levels as your play gets better and you dominate the competition more and more.
The graphics on this game are simply awesome. The stadium, rink and players are all life-like. It is as if you are actually watching a game on TV! Even details as intricate as players faces.
The game is relatively easy to learn. There are simple moves you pick up early. The deek, passing, shooting are divided up among 3 buttons or keys if you are electing to use the keyboard.
You also have the option of creating players to play on your team. This is a highly advanced area where you get to choose up to 60 different options to add for the player.
Overall, this game is magnificent. It is one of the best sports games available on the market today. Cheaply priced, this game is a definite not miss! The graphics are spectacular. The colour commentary is exciting. Though high speeds of computers are recommended for this game. And there is a bit to wait while the game uploads onto your computer screen. Despite these minor flaws, NHL 2000 has no comparison! This game never gets boring. I have been playing for two months straight. This is a definite two thumbs up.
