Pros:Great graphics, good car selection, good tracks, good plot/scheme
Cons:Not great car selection yet, graphics can get choppy
The Bottom Line: The fourth version in the Need For Speed series (excluding SEs and VRally) is by far the best racing game ever made.
Hello readers, I'm writing this Epinion to inform everyone of one of the greatest computer games yet created. For those interested, I recently wrote an Epinion on the prequel to this game: Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. I called it one of the best games ever created and I now have become positive that it is no longer the best. High Stakes, though many people say is a slightly expanded version of Hot Pursuit, is a truly different game. In the career mode of the game, a player uses a much different scheme, because they have to be able to afford cars and repairs and such so you have to repeat some races to build up your bank account and so on. Overall this is a great game and is very interesting and challenging to play. Though I haven't played into the upper levels of the game, so far it is not impossible for amateurs to win. Also the availability of internet downloads is astonishing, along with the 6 or 7 downloadable cars that EA offers, hundreds if not thousands are available on other sites.
